The Almond Tree
I’ve received The Almond Tree via goodreads giveaway system. I want to read this book at a silent period of my life, so I’ve waited four months to read it.
First of all; I like the main theme and how the story is told. It’s the novelization of an old and ongoing problem. But this book shows us the events from only Palestinian point of view. May be it would be better to use both point of views, by using two main characters from both sides. The story is told from Ichmad Hamid’s point of view which starts while he was a young boy and ends when he is an old Nobel winner professor.
Except Palestinian related events, Ichmad Hamid can overcome every problem. Even he became a Nobel winner professor. And also the story is told in 4-5 time periods in only 350 pages and this is causing a superficially told story. I personally prefer the stories which is told in only one time frame and use flashbacks to tell the stories of main characters past life.
As a last word, it is good to read such a rare themed book.
