There is too much violence, hatred and blood in this book. Main character, Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath, can kill a man without thinking. Despite all these negative actions, I liked Jorg.

In the first part you could not understand the reason behind Jorg’s actions, but most of the reasons are told in second part.

The setting seems to be a post apocalyptic world, probably Earth at year about three thousand with medieval technology and magic.

I’ve found similarities from George RR Martin’s violence scenes and medieval politic themes.

It’s really a great book for fantasy readers who like medieval themes. I would like to give 3.5 stars to this book, but it is not possible so I round it up to 4 with hope for some of my concerns will be satisfied in the next book.

When Jorg was 9 years old his mother and little brother is killed but his father, King, did not revenge their death. Jorg decided to take revenge for his mother and brother, and let the castle. He has met some sell-swords and became their brothers. About 4-5 years later, he has decided to return his fathers castle and tried to be acknowledged as his royal children. The king sent him for a mission, and he has returned with victory. While hoping to gain his father’s acknowledgement, his fathers tried to cut his throat. Somehow he survived and became the king of Renar.
