The author uses Barbaros as a side character to tell the story of two lovers.
In this book you can learn about Ottoman history in Mediterranean and fall of Al-Andalus. This was the first Iskender Pala novel I’ve read. I liked his style and story telling. If there would be a next book, which will focus on Barbaros’ life, it would be better.
